Hindu saints reiterate resolve for building Ram temple

Allahabad : A gathering of Hindu religious leaders here today reiterated their resolve for building a Ram temple at Ayodhya.

The leaders of the Sant Samaj had gathered here for a meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad – the apex body of over a dozen monastic orders – where issues relating to the Kumbh religious congregation scheduled to be held here in 2019 were discussed.

According to Vidyananda Saraswati, spokesperson of the Juna Akhara – the largest of the monastic orders – “the issue of a temple at Ram Janmabhoomi also figured prominently at the meeting of Akhara Parishad, which was attended among others by Mahant Dharmdas of Nirvani Ani Akhara”.

Mahant Dharmdas is one of the plaintiffs in the Ayodhya title dispute, on which the Allahabad High Court had delivered its verdict in 2010 and which is now pending in the Supreme Court.

Saraswati said “the sant samaj resolved that a meeting will be held in Ayodhya soon to discuss the future course of action for building Ram Mandir”.
