Hindus need to unite for establishment of Hindu Rashtra ! – Sumit Sagavekar, HJS

Huge procession taken out by Vajra Dal on the occasion of Shriram Navami in Dharavi

In a scene depicted on ‘Gou-rakshan’, police forced to remove knife from a butcher’s hand shown in the scene

Mumbai – No action is taken against Prashant Bhushan though he compared Bhagavan Shrikrushna with road-Romeos; no action is taken against ‘tweet’ of Ram Gopal Varma on the occasion of Women’s Day insulting all women; no action is taken against Sanjay Leela Bhansali for character assassination of Rani Padmavati and distorting history; but when Hindus propose to take out procession of Shriram on the day of Shriram Navami, action is taken immediately against them. They are served notices. This situation needs to be changed and Hindus should get their just rights. Let all Hindus unite and dedicate themselves for establishment of ‘Rama-rajya (Hindu Rashtra)’, was the appeal made by Shri. Sumit Sagavekar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in a program while concluding the procession taken out by Vajra Dal on Shriram Navami in Dharavi area. Other ‘Hindutvavadis’ also expressed their views and kindled ‘Dharma-tej’ among the audience.

Same old story about procession taken out every year

Vajra Dal from Dharavi celebrates Shriram Navami with enthusiasm every year and a huge procession is taken out on this occasion through Dharavi area. ‘Hindutvavadi’ organizations, ‘Mandals’ and devout Hindus participate in the procession in large number. Every year, activists of these organizations submit application to police station for permission to take out procession; but every year, under the excuse of maintaining law and order, permission is either refused or route of the procession is asked to be changed. The organizations, ‘Mandals and ‘Hindutvavadis’ feel that the procession should be taken out through their areas but on the proposed route, there are many shops of scrap owned by Muslims and most of them have encroached on parts of road to set up such shops in unauthorized manner. Police therefore, refuse permission for taking out procession through this area and the route suggested by police goes through a very narrow lane; passing only through one area. Permission is however, granted to Muslims for Urus from this area during their festivals.

Large no. of police deployed for procession

The area, through which procession is taken out, has houses of Hindus and Muslims and it is therefore, considered to be most sensitive as per police department. Like every year, there was large number of police deployed even this year during the procession. There were vehicles of State Reserved police and riot-controlling squad. Senior Police Inspector Bangar of Dharavi police station was personally present along with other policemen. Police ask to take out knife from an effigy of butcher in depicted scene

Police feel that the scene created of cow-slaughter is provoking; but they do not feel it provoking when butchers really kill thousands of cows every day !

This year, on a vehicle taking part in the procession, there was ‘live’ scene about protection of cows in which it was shown that a fanatic was holding a cow and about to use his knife on the cow; whereas on the other side of the ‘Gou-mata’, a Hindu was shown as holding cow tightly and trying to save it from the clutches of butcher. Senior PI saw the scene and immediately asked to remove wooden knife from the hand of effigy of butcher, claiming it to be provoking. The activists said that the truth was shown through the depiction. On the backside, various ways in which a cow helps man was also shown; but PI Bangar didn’t listen to activists and took out the knife shown in butcher’s hand. Police had brought a machine to measure decibels and they recorded the sound on loudspeakers.
