Thiruvananthpuram, Kerala : Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha held successfully

Thiruvananthpuram (Kerala): Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha conducted here in a very enthusiastic atmosphere recently. Around 100 Hindus participated in this Sabha.

Mr. Pradeesh Vishwanath , coordinator, 24 hour Hindu helpline for Love Jihad victims and the district organising secretary of Vishva Hindu Parishad for Thiruvananthapuram was the main speaker on the occasion. Mr. Raveendranath ,Working state president, Hindu Aikya Vedi, Miss M.P. Rashmi of Ranaragini, Miss Praneeta Sukhtankar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti were the other speakers of the Sabha.

The Sabha began with the blowing of the conch (shankhanaad). The atmosphere became very blissful after that. Later, Mr. Sankar Vadyar, Mr. Bhagatheeshwaran of Karamana Gramam recited the Vedamantras. Mr. Pradeesh Vishwanath inaugrated the Sabha by lighting the auspicious lamp. The speakers and other special guests and devout Hindus were felicitated on the occasion.

Mr. Sudheer Shanmugham of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti gave a brief introduction about the activities of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and the tremendous success it has achieved in a short span of 8 years. He stated that it is possible only due to the grace of God and Saints. Miss Aditi Sukhtankar spoke about the pro-Hindutvavadi periodical Sanatan Prabhat, its greatness and its role in creating awareness about Dharma in Hindus. The compering of the Sabha was done by Mrs. Rajini and Miss Supriya Sukhtankar.

Flex posters imparting education about Dharma (how to take darshan in temples, regarding Achardharma, etc.) were displayed throughout the hall.

Love Jihad is an attack on the self respect of each and every Hindu youth ! – Mr. Pradeesh Vishwanath

Love Jihad has today become a very dangerous issue. It is a ploy of the Muslims that has started long back nearly 14 years back. It has been started in order to destroy Hinduism itself. Hindu girls are treacherously put into the ‘love trap’ and such traps have destroyed the lives of thousands of Hindu girls till now. Today, every hour, 6 Hindu girls are converted to Islam, which means losing 84 Hindu girls daily which is an alarming proportion! To protect our Dharma and Hindus, it is high time we get united and do something about this! Also he said that this was a challenge before every Hindu youth in this country to protect his sisters and consequently the entire society from this catastrophe and if he is unable to, then indeed, he is unfit to live. Stressing on the need for uniting Hindus, Mr. Pradeesh gave an example of how unity prevents attacks on Dharma. In Gujarat, before the Godhra riots, around 300 Hindu girls were converted every year by Muslims under the banner of love Jihad. But post Godhra, Hindus came together and ever since, no Hindu girl has been converted to Islam. This is indeed a great example to all Hindus.

Temple takeover is an indirect attack on Hinduism ! – Mr. Raveendranath, working state president, Hindu Aikya Vedi

Temples are very sacred to the Hindus. Today, under the pretext of preventing corruption in temples, the governement is trying to take whole control of temples and loot its wealth. For the same reason, anti – Hindus are trying to make the governement pass the ‘Devaswom bill’ in Kerala, which will destroy Hinduism itself. This bill will enable the government to get even more control in the day to day activities. There is a provision to include social reformers in the temple committee, whereas ideally, it should be saints, bhaktas who should have been included. Hence, it becomes imperative for each and every Hindu  to protect temples and snatch their temples from government control. This will be a major step towards protecting Dharma!

All Hindu women should follow the ideals of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, Rajmata Jijabai to prevent attacks on them ! – Miss M.P. Rashmi, Ranaragini

Today even though we feel we have progressed far ahead, the attacks on ladies are increasing by the day. Ladies are well educated today, but are spiritually backward. Blind imitation of western culture, lack of spiritual practice and dharmacharan, are the major reasons for it. Our academic knowledge only will not help us combat the adharmis (anti-Hindus). By doing dharmacharan only we can increase our spiritual strength, which will help in protecting ourselves. Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, Rajmata Jijabai had never gone to any personlatiy development classes, but due to their intense spiritual practice, they could fight for Dharma. We have to keep these great ideals in mind.

The pathetic state of Nation and Dharma is due to lack of unity and pride for Dharma among Hindus ! – Miss Praneeta Sukhtankar, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

Today, Bharat is facing many threats in the form of Naxalism, infiltration of Bangladeshis, terrorism, etc. The state of Dharma is no different – denigration of Deities, blind imitation of foreign culture, state control of temple administration, etc. The reason for this is lack of unity among Hindus. To combat these attacks, we have to understand our Dharma, follow our Dharma (Dharmacharan) and protect our Dharma. This should be our sole motto. Spiritual practice includes doing sadhana for our own spiritual uplift and also spreading dharma in the society (dharmaprasar). These 2 aspects are very important. Through dharmaprasar, we will be fulfilling our duty towards Dharma and attain God’s grace.

1. One of the ladies was very impressed by the programme and told that she got what she wanted by the way of guidance from the speakers of the programme.
2. A devout Hindu told that he would try to start Dharma Satsang soon.

Highlights of the program

1. Around 20 devout Hindus attended the discussion after the Sabha.
2. Many devout Hindus came forward to help in clearing the hall after the Sabha.
3. A devout Hindu came for the Sabha only from a place which is around 4 hours away.
4. Three devout Hindus became members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
