hjs-logo31Mapusa : Women need to increase physical, mental and spiritual strength. Ranaragini Division undertakes many drives for this purpose and women need to take part in them. Atrocities against women are increasing and women should join self-defence training classes to put curb on their oppression. Women should also increase power of unity along with self-defence training, was the appeal made by Sou. Shubha Sawant of Ranaragini Division during Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha organized by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) at Shri Hanuman Rashtroli Panchayat Devasthan, Goljuve (Bardesh) on 19th November. She was speaking on the topic of ‘Need for self-defence training’. Shri. Govind Chodankar, Coordinator of HJS for North Goa shared the dais with her.

Sou. Shubha Sawant of ‘Ranaragini’ said further, “Today, progressive women have no place in society. Women are treated differently in different Sects but woman is considered as a form of Deity in Hindu Dharma.” Shri. Govind Chodankar spoke on the subject of ‘Need for Hindu Rashtra and related efforts’. He said, “The Government is taking over management of renowned temples and using money donated by devotees for welfare of minorities. Hindus should oppose, in lawful manner, Government policy of taking over temple management. Rehabilitation of Kashmiri Hindus, with honour, in Kashmir is the need of the hour. ‘Believers’ Sectarians are luring and converting Hindus; offering them various baits. Hindus should therefore, be imparted ‘Dharmashikshan’ and they should also oppose these things in lawful manner. Sou. Anjali Nayak explained various activities undertaken by HJS; in the beginning of the ‘sabha’. Sou. Pragati Mayekar did compeering of the ‘sabha’. Shri. Charudatta Panajikar, a member of Haldona Panchayat and Shri. Rama Tari, the President of Devasthana were present on the occasion.
