On 18th October in one debate on Thanthi TV Ex-IAS officer had said “India is a secular country, who can stop me slapping (lord) Rama by chappals?”. This created lot of outrage among Hindutvawadis. The hunger strike was organized in a dharmik way, where in strike started with blessings of Srilasri Jyothivel Swamiji of Mathammal Ashram. During hunger strike and in between leaders’ speeches Hindutvawadis were chanting Srirama Japa & reciting Bhajans.

Shri. Rama Ravikumar of Hindu Makkal Katchi, Shri. R D Prabhu of Bharat Hindu Munnani, Shri. Radhakrishnan of Tamil Nadu Shiv Sena, Shri. Ethiraj of Dharma Sevalaya Trust also participated in hunger strike along with Hindu Mahasabha members.

Sou. Uma Ravichandran of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in her speech said, have we heard of denigration of a deity in a country where in that religion is majority. This happens only with Hindus, because India is declared as secular nation. To stop all such atrocities on Hindus, the only permanent solution is establishment of Rama Rajya i.e. Hindu Rashtra. For that all Hindutvawadis need to unite and conduct all activities in Dharmik way, as where there is Dharma / Ishwar, success is bound to happen. Thru this individual also progresses spiritually.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti congratulated Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha for organizing hunger strike in Dharmik way in the presence of Swamijis. Sou. Uma Ravichandran offered 2017 Sanatan Panchang to Srilasri Jyothivel Swamiji.
