An entrance fee case at Vitthal Mandir

15 days timeline – A decision in meeting of all Pro Hindu Organisations and Varakari sampradaya

Pandharpur: Without considering the common devotees, in the interest of convenience of rich  and fulfill the personal interests, government designated temple committee is planning to charge entrance fee for Vitthal mandir. Hence the anti-dharma committee should be called off and varakari members should be included the committee while reestablishing the committee.

If this is not solved within 15 days they will have to face a strong protest. Such stern warning was given by the president of ‘Varakari, Phadakari dindi’ H.B.P. Madhav Maharaj Shivanikar. He was speaking in the meeting held at Kukurmundekar Maharaj math among Varakari Phadakari, Hindu organizations and pro hindu parties, respected citizens and businessmen.

H.B.P. Shivnikar Maharaj further said, “ Government has put stay on this decision due to opposition of Varakari Phadkari. If government does not call off the temple committee we will not let the Congress and national Congress leaders enter the temple. If need be, we are even ready to take the beatings from Police for this.”

At this time Mr. Vasant Patil was condemned for alleging the representatives of Varakari Phadkari.

H.B.P. Bhagwat Chaware Maharaj demanded for the accounts of the money received by temple committee till now. H.B.P. Bhanudas Maharaj Dhavalikar objected taking over of Alandi Samdhi temple by government. H.B.P. Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Jalgaonkar said that we should protest against taking over of all temples by government. Mr. Kashinath Thide told about 8 calves from the temple goshala being sold to muslim. Mr. Shirish Katekar BJP city president made people aware about he misuse of the privileges by the temple committee. Mr. Vivek Benare appealed to unite to control the temple committees reckless decisions. Mrs. Rajashri Tiwari also emphasized the need of uniting for Hindus against all attacks on Hindu Dharma.

Other speakers who expressed their views were Mr. Ravi Mule of Shivsena, Mr. Abhaysinha Kulkarani of Hindu Mahasabha, Mr. Ravindra Sathe of VHP, Mr. Umesh Vagholikar of BJP. More than 50 devout Hindus were present at this time.
