Chennai : Recently a delegation headed by Shri. Rama Ravikumar of Hindu Makkal Katchi visited Sri Lanka. With the help of Shri. Sachchithanandanji, he visited the sites of many demolished temples where Buddha vihars are built. The shocking fact is that around 367 ancient Hindu temples were destroyed throughout Sri Lanka. Most of these temples are in war rampant areas where Hindus were not able to do regular puja and worship. In many places, Buddha statues were installed by the army of Sri Lanka. Around 89 villages which had proper Hindu Tamil names were renamed in Sinhalese language. The main motive of the Sri Lankan government is to destroy the culture of Hinduism by destroying the places of worship. Sri Lankan government had earlier cleansed the tamil Hindu race by mass genocide.

Recently Hindu Makkal Katchi organised a one-day hunger strike under the leadership of Shri. Arjun Sampathiji, the founder President at Valluvar Kottam, Chennai, urging the Central Government to take stern steps with Sri Lankan Government regarding the destruction of hundreds of ancient Hindu temples there. On behalf of HJS, Sri Sriram Luktuke and Sou. Uma Ravichandran participated. Sou. Uma in her speech urged the Central Government to take a stern stand with the Sri Lankan Government in protecting our rich culture and heritage in Sri Lanka. It was told that the only remedy for all such difficulties is to unite and strive for the establishment of Hindu Rashtra in Bharat.

The main demands of Hindu Makkal Katchi to the Central Government were

1. Tamil Hindus need protection and justice.

2. The displaced Hindus should be relocated to their homes.

3. The Buddha statues should be removed from the Hindu temples which were demolished and the Hindu temples should be reconstructed.

4. Our Central Government should urge the Sri Lanka Government to rebuild all our Hindu temples.

5. Sri Lanka which was transformed into ‘Buddha kshetra’ by force and violence should be brought back to its original glory as ‘Shiva kshetra’.
