BSSS demands Police to stop programs held by missionaries to convert people

Christian missionaries forcibly convert, luring them with baits, 150 people from ‘Sindhi’ community at Gandhinagar (Kolhapur)

Gandhinagar (Dist. Kolhapur) : There is considerable increase in activities of Christian missionaries and they have been converting people from ‘Sindhi’ community since past few months under the guise of organizing programs for praying to Jesus. They offer them different baits and convert. It has created tension in the atmosphere; therefore, programs planned by Christian missionaries on 27th and 28th September should be cancelled was the representation submitted to Dy. Police Superintendent Amarshingh Jadhav by a delegation of people from ‘Sindhi’ community and ‘Hindutvavadis’.

Shri. Ashok Ramchandani, Kolhapur city-Chief of VHP, Shri. Raju Sundarani, Shri. Hira Paramanandani, Shri. Sagar Nirankari, Shri. Yash Gidwani, Shri. Yash Sindhi, Shri. Ravi Malani, Shri. Dilip Vasvani, Shri. Ramesh Kukreja, Shri. Shyam Savlani, Shri. Ravi Darda, Shri. Haresh Udasi, Shri. Santosh Wadhva, Shiv Sena’s Karveer Taluka Chief Raju Yadav, Shri. Shivanand Swami and Shri. Kiran Duse of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti were present on the occasion.

Shri. Ashok Ramchandani and Shri. Raju Yadav said that office bearers of the organization had discussions with police. Christian missionaries are encouraging conversions at Gandhinagar. Police Inspector Gaikwad of Gandhinagar police station had said that police would hold meeting of both the sides; programs of Christian missionaries would be recorded and care would be taken to see that nothing happened leading to creation of tension; however, police didn’t go for the program nor did they record the program. In fact, activists of BSSS did the recording; therefore, the Christian organizers got angry and drove away activists of BSSS. Later, police got information of the same and threatened the activists of BSSS in front of the organizers to file cases for spreading communal disharmony and molesting women. It is quite serious matter. Had police done recording of the program, Christian missionaries would have been exposed. Dy. SP Jadhav promised that he would look into the matter and conversion programs of missionaries would be recorded.
