Distortion of the Indian map on FreeWorldmaps.net website

We at Hindu Janajagruti Samiti have received numerous complaints from devout Hindus regarding a distorted map of India published in the Free World Maps website. It is deliberately showing a wrong depiction of India without some portion of Kashmir at the following link – http://www.freeworldmaps.net/asia/india/map.html

Upon reviewing the images and complaints, HJS team immediately notified and appealed to freeworldmaps’ website administration team requesting to remove the distorted version. In the appeal, HJS stated that the Indian map displayed does not show proper demarcation of India and Pakistan, and have also deleted some portion of Kashmir resulting in an incorrect map. This is an act of treachery, hurts the National sentiments of Indian citizens and also a brazen act of offence against India.

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) team has not received any response from the freeworldmaps’ website administration team. Consequently, HJS now requests all readers to appeal against this dreadful distortion peacefully and lawfully by writing an email requesting to remove the distorted map of India from their website and upload an authentic map of India approved by the Government of India.

Namaskar,

We at Hindu Janajagruti Samiti have received several complaints from devout Hindus regarding a distorted map of India published in the Free World Maps website. It is deliberately showing a wrong depiction of India without Kashmir at the following link – http://www.freeworldmaps.net/asia/india/map.html

We are sending this appeal letter to notify you that your website shows a distorted version of the map of India in which the State of Jammu and Kashmir have been misrepresented.

The Map of India displayed does not show proper demarcation of India and Pakistan, and you have deleted some portion of Kashmir. This is not in accordance with the Official Map of India issued by the Government of India and Kashmir remains an integral part of India. In doing so, you have presented an incorrect map. In the process you have hurt the National sentiments of India and committed a National offence.

We request you to immediately correct the map and tender an unconditional apology to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and all Indians for hurting their National sentiments through this incorrect display of Indian map. If no positive reply is received, we will be forced to start a protest campaign against you.

It could be that you might not be aware of the draft of the Geospatial Information Regulation Bill 2016, released recently, which stats that whoever depicts, disseminates, publishes or distributes any wrong or false topographic information of India including international boundaries, shall be punished with a severe fine and/or imprisonment.

We at Hindu Janajagruti Samiti have campaigned to educate people about such denigrations that occur through various products, and after learning about the denigration, many companies have removed the offending products. Please refer to our website https://www.hindujagruti.org/hjs-activities/stop-adharma-practices to see our ongoing and successful awareness campaigns against the denigration of Hindu Dharma.
