Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale embraced Spiritual Science after realising the limitations of Hypnotherapy, why will hypnotism be practiced in His Ashram ?

Few seekers staying in the Sanatan Ashram at Panvel are prescribed H and H 1 medicines to alleviate their mental distress. Even though this is a fact, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) claimed before the court that a ‘large stock of such medicines’ has been recovered. Certain sections from Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale’s book, Clinical Hypnosis, were quoted out of context claiming that ‘when these medicines are administered, the patient becomes ready to do anything’ and that ‘these medicines are used to hypnotise people’. The government prosecutor also told the court that it would be necessary to check if the medicines recovered from the Ashram are being used to hypnotise someone.

In the book Introduction to Spirituality (compiled in 1996), Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale has written that after conducting research for 15 years (between 1967 and 1982) as a hypnotherapist, he realized that about 30% patients were not cured with the usual medicines. After observing that such patients were cured by undertaking spiritual practice, he also realized that spirituality is a medicine far superior compared to hypnotherapy. His intense curiosity to learn more about the Science of Spirituality made his actively take up Spiritual practice. When He experienced the superiority of Spiritual Science, he gave up His practice as a hypnotherapist and started propagating Spirituality in 1993 (which has continued till date). Since then, Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale has compiled 284 books on the Science of Spirituality. As of June 2016, 65,71,000 copies in 15 languages have been published; besides 6 books in German and Spanish. Meanwhile He has published only 6 books about hypnosis. In these books also, information has been given on eradication of personality defects which is a requirement of spiritual practice.

So it is patently clear that the SIT’s claim that the medicines recovered from the Ashram are being used to ‘hypnotise’ people is ridiculous! If this is the quality of ‘investigation’ conducted by the police, will they ever be able to nab and punish the real culprits ?
