Devotees immerse Shri Ganesh idols in flowing water instead of artificial water tanks after awareness was created amongst them !

Ideal Ganeshotsav drive undertaken by HJS and Sanatan Sanstha !

Railings fitted at Omkareshwar ghat for safety after HJS brought it to the notice  !

Pune – ‘Ideal Ganeshotsav’ drive is being undertaken jointly by Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in various parts of the city and on 6th September, ideal Ganeshotsav immersion drive was undertaken at Pune and Chinchwad. Devotees gave good response to the drive and immersed idols in flowing water.

1. Lack of facilities and all problems regarding immersion of idols at Omkareshwar ghat, was brought to the notice of representatives of many news channels by Shri. Sunil Ghanvat, Maharashtra State coordinator of HJS. Information was given by HJS to media about municipal corporation not releasing water and otherwise lethargic working of Municipal Corporation. After all the information was published on news channels, the municipal administration woke up and started erecting railings at Omkareshwar ghat.

2. Municipal Corporation’s body-guards were not available at Omkareshwar ghat for immersion of idols and few, who were there, were standing at such far distance that they could not be seen. There was no fencing at this ghat for safety; creating problem for Ganesh-devotees.

3. Devotees condemned municipal administration for lack of facilities.

PMC employees and police force devotees to immerse idols in artificial water tanks !

1. As devotees went to Omkareshwar ghat with the idols for immersion, PMC employees and police were forcing them to immerse the idols in artificial water tanks. They were telling devotees, “Why do you want to immerse idols in river water which is so dirty ? Instead, you immerse them in PMC’s water tanks.” (Will police and administration show similar guts to force followers of other religions ? Remember that police, who lie flat before fanatics, show guts only to Hindus. Lodge complaint about such secular police and administration for interfering in Hindus’ religious matters ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

2. Few devotees had to immerse their idols in artificial water tanks although they didn’t want to, because of such bullying.

3. Devotees were explained the importance of immersion in flowing water after which they preferred to immerse idols in flowing water despite PMC employees and police.

4. PMC administration did not release water in river as a result, devotees had to immerse idols in less water available in river. (Every year, municipal administration gives excuse of shortfall in rain and claim that there is no drinking water. Few anti-Hindus oppose administration to release water in river on the days of immersion. This year, however, there is more than adequate rainfall; still PMC administration did not make provision to release enough water; therefore, Hindus must ask for explanation on this, in lawful manner ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
