Kasargod : Hundreds of Hindu residents of the locality joined the Hunger-Strike protest organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) against the decision of Kerala Government to acquire the land (Aila Maidan) of popular Sri Aila Durgaparameshwari Temple of Uppala, near Manjeshwar of Kasaragod in Northern Kerala.

VHP alleged that there is a political conspiracy behind the decision of taking the Aila Maidan by the govt authorities. Sri Mohanadas Swamiji of Manila Matha, RSS senior functionary Gopal Chettiyar, Socio-religious leader Kuntar Ravish Tantri and others participated in the hunger-strike.

A long rally from the ground of Sri Aila Durgaparameshwari Temple of Uppala with hundreds of Hindu protesters marched through different roads of Uppala and returned to the ground again to start a grand meeting there with many dignitaries and Hindu Monks and Saints.

It is told that this Hunger-Strike and protest rally may reach to the extreme, if the Communist Govt’s decision would not be withdrawn immediately.  Many of the speakers in the meeting highlighted several instances to cease the Hindu religious rights in Kerala including the illegal encroachment of precious lands of the Temples and Muths in Kerala by the anti-Hindu forces there. The Leftists Govt in Kerala is playing a very anti-Hindu role which will lead a greater Hindu movement in Kerala to secure the Hindu identity of Kerala.

In many cases, the Kerala Govt. encroaches the Hindu Temple lands, takes revenues and taxes from Devaswom boards or controls those Hindu bodies and utilizes those earned money/profits for the welfare of Muslims and Christians depriving the benefits to the Hindus.
