Avoid using plastic national flags : Appeal by ‘Rashtradhvaj Ambernath Taluka Committee’

Ambernath : Flag hoisting program is held on 15th August and 26th January in the Government and semi-Government offices, so also at public places. On 11th August, a meeting was held by ‘Rashtra-dhvaj Ambernath Taluka-level Committee’ for efforts to stop abuse of national flags. Tehsildar Shri. Prashant Joshi asked his officers to issue a circular giving instructions to avoid use of plastic national flags and taking action against the persons selling plastic national flags so as to prevent denigration of national flags because such flags are later found lying on roads. It is stated in the circular to hold lectures in schools, creating awareness amongst students on maintaining honour of national flags. He also said that the Town Council would be given necessary instructions to display boards at different places for creating awareness amongst people. The meeting was also attended by education department – administrative officer Shri. Gajanan Mandade, fire department-officer Shri. Patil and Shri. Sonone and Shri. Viresh Ahir of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

Shri. Viresh Ahir showed a VCD to the participants on how to avoid abuse of national flags. Tehsildar Shri. Joshi said that next time, the VCD would be shown on his behalf. He promised to show the instructions through local cable operators at the base of the TV screens and instruct even the local newspapers. As promised by him, local newspaper named ‘Amrut Kalash’ has published the appeal.
