MLA Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar demands action against guilty in PMDS scam

Action should be taken against the guilty in scam committed by Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti by conducting inquiry in time-bound period ! – MLA Rajesh Kshirsagar, Shiv Sena

Congratulations to MLA-Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar who has been constantly raising voice against corruption !

rajesh_kshirsagar_320Mumbai : Inquiry into scam committed by Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti (PMDS) should be conducted within certain time-limit and prompt stringent action should be taken against the guilty, was the demand made by Shiv Sena MLA Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar through a representation submitted to the Chief Minister (CM) Shri. Devendra Fadanvis on 5th August. PMDS has control over 3067 temples including Shri Mahalakshmi Temple which is one of the 3 and half ‘Shakti-peethas’ in Maharashtra, Jyotiba Devasthan and other temples from Sangli, Kolhapur, Sindhu-durga districts. The CM had issued an order on 8th April 2015 in reply to a question asked during Legislative Assembly session for conducting inquiry through State Crime Department’s special investigating team (SIT), into the scam of PMDS.

MLA Shri. Kshirsagar has stated in the representation that,

1. Out of 25000 acres of land with PMDS, there is no account of 8000 acres of land which is the main issue under land-scam. Also for 35 years, from 1969 to 2004, no audit has been carried out by PMDS of its accounts.

2. No record has been kept by PMDS on the gold and silver ornaments donated at every Devasthan and their value; excluding Shri. Mahalakshmi Devasthan and Kedarlinga Devasthan but in case of Shri Mahalakshmi Devasthan, there has been fraud in hundreds of kgs of silver, in making of silver chariot.

3. There is no provision for royalty for mining work involving millions of rupees. The Government has no knowledge as to who gave permission for undertaking mining work. Many such malpractices were brought to the notice of the District Collector and the Chartered Accountant during investigations but they have been paying no attention to the same and it has been deliberately overlooked.

4. It has been more than 15 months but no information has been disclosed on findings during inquiry conducted in this matter. As a result, all offenders are roaming freely everywhere.

5. In case of Tuljapur Devasthan also, such delaying tactics are used and inquiry is going on for years; therefore, millions of devotees have doubt that the scam might have been suppressed. Many persons have expressed such doubt when they met me personally.

6. Sanjaykumar, the Chief of investigations into the scam of Devasthan comes to Kolhapur and promptly discloses information on other cases but he keeps quiet on this scam, so what is the problem ?

7. Devasthan-scam has become a very sensitive issue and is related to sentiments of millions of devotees; therefore, information should be given on the progress in investigations; what action has been taken by SIT, who have been interrogated and action proposed to be taken against offenders ?

8. In fact, the CM should personally look into the matter. He should take review of the status of investigations every month and set a time-limit for investigations so as to take action against the guilty. The guilty should be sent to jail, is our demand.
