Ban on going to temple sanctum of Shani Temple on every Saturday

Shani-devotees expect that religious traditions would be followed and going to temple-pedestal of Shri Shanidev would always be banned !

Sonai (Dist. Nagar) : Agitations were staged for allowing women to enter Shanidev’s temple-pedestal in the name of equality between men and women. Later, due to the verdict passed by Mumbai High Court, everyone including women was allowed to go to temple-pedestal of Shri Shanidev; but considering the huge crowd of devotees on the temple-pedestal, Devasthan Samiti has decided that on every Saturday, nobody would be allowed to have ‘darshan’ of Shanidev from temple-pedestal.

The arrangement of ‘darshan’ for all was started since last two months but the huge crowd coming for ‘darshan’ creating chaos and jostling at temple-pedestal may lead to stampede and some untoward incident. In view of such possibility, it has been decided by the Devasthan to prohibit entry to temple-pedestal of Shanidev for all devotees, including women, during the period of such unruly rush and on every Saturday.

Local women firm on their decision to have ‘darshan’ from below the pedestal

Women from Shani Shingnapur and surrounding areas have not yet gone to temple-pedestal of Shri Shanidev although permission has now been granted for women to have ‘darshan’ from the pedestal. Going to temple-pedestal of Shanidev for ‘darshan’ is not abiding by Dharma, reiterated local women and expressed their resolve to have ‘darshan’ only from below the temple-pedestal. (It is failure of the so-called progressive factions’ anti-Hindu agitation ! All women should keep local women from Shani Shingnapur as ideal before them who have been protecting religious traditions and abiding by Dharma ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
