‘Anonymous’ letter threatens to blow up Mayakka Devi temple

Close down liquor shops at Chinchli (Dist. Belgaum), else Mayakka Devi temple will be blown up !  – Threat recd. by Devasthan through anonymous letter

Raibag (Dist. Belgaum) : An anonymous letter was found in donation box of Mayakka Devi Devasthan, threatening to blow up this temple if liquor shops in Chinchli were not closed down. People in the area are therefore, under tension and scared.

This letter is unsigned. In place of address, it is written as ‘Youth from Kali-Yuga, Gaon Chinchli’ and in place of subject is written ‘Who wants a temple without God’. In the main matter, it is written “If you have faith in God and have devotion, then save this Devasthan. I have planned to blow up this Devasthan on 1st December and destroy everything. I have all the material required for blowing up the Devasthan. If all liquor shops are closed down in Chinchli, I will not cause any harm to the temple.” Such anonymous letter was found in donation box of this temple, creating havoc. Dy. Police Inspector Shivashankar Mukri from Kudachi was informed about the threat received and it has been recorded at police station.
