New Delhi : On 15th May, pro-Hindu activists held demonstrations at ‘Jantar-Mantar’ under aegis of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan’ to condemn statements made by Adi Godrej, the Owner of Godrej Group of Companies regarding consumption of beef. It was demanded that statements made by Godrej have hurt religious sentiments of Hindus and stringent action should be taken against him. Warning was also given to boycott all Godrej products if he didn’t withdraw his statement and render apology to Hindus. Members of ‘Vedic Upasana Peetha’, ‘Yoga Vedanta Seva Samiti’, Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti participated in demonstrations.

Participating pro-Hindu leaders said that Godrej made a statement about Hindus consuming beef during Vedic period. Godrej belongs to Parsi community. It has been written in ‘Avesta’, Parsi’s Holy Scripture that consumption of meat of a cow, bull and calf was forbidden. Still, Godrej made such statement; keeping only his business profits in mind.

Other demands made during demonstrations

1. Cases should be filed against those responsible for referring to martyrs Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Suryasen etc. as terrorists through text books of Delhi University.

2. Anti-Hindu organizations like ‘Bhoomata Brigade’ are staging agitations to enter temple sanctum; by breaking old religious traditions. Such agitations are staged only to get publicity and action should be taken against them as per the prevailing law.
