TMC stands for terror, maut, corruption : PM Modi

modi-narendra-pmKolkata : What does TMC stand for? T for terror, M for ‘maut’ (death), and C for corruption. Prime Minister Narendra Modi coined this at a BJP gathering at Asansol on Thursday, stepping up the ante against West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee government.

The PM has always been one of the X-factors in the Bengal assembly polls. On Thursday, he was in a combative mood and delivered his most scathing speeches yet at Asansol, Birpara (Jalpaiguri) and Siliguri. “In the five years of Trinamool rule, we have seen bomb-making factories in Bengal, deaths and corruption. It is time for people to decide if they want to save Bengal from Trinamool,” the PM said.

“These are not words befitting of the PM. Making up a clever-by-half abbreviation based on wild allegations and using the initial letters of our party, was in poor taste, to say the least,” TMC spokesperson Derek O’Brien said.
