Kolhapur : Mahalakshmi Devasthan Bhrashtachar-virodhi Kruti Samiti (action committee) has started a movement against the unauthorized construction at Manikarnika Kund and Sriram Sena declares support to the movement. It has been observed that devotees have not been provided any facilities at Mahalakshmi Temple. It is our tradition to build a ‘Kund’ in front of a temple; but unfortunately, unauthorized construction has been erected over this Kund i.e. of a lavatory. There is an order passed by the District Collector to demolish unauthorized construction but it has not been removed which is quite shameful. Today, all pro-Hindu organizations have come together and a meeting will soon be held to decide further course of action. The above information was given by Shri. Pramod Mutalik, the founder of Sriram Sene. On 8th March, Shri. Pramod Mutalik, Shri. Sunil Ghanavat, the State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and spokesperson of the action committee, Shri. Abhay Vartak, spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha along with more than 40 activists of Bajarang Dal, Yuva Sena, Shri Shiva-pratishthan, Sriram Sene, Hindu Ekata Andolan and Shiv Sena examined the unauthorized construction at Manikarnika Kund. Shri. Mutalik later talked to media persons.

Chandrakant Barale of Hindu Ekata; Shri. Raju Yadav, Shri. Sambhaji Bhokare, Shri. Raghunath Tipugade, Shri. Sudhakar Sutar of Shiv Sena; office bearers of other pro-Hindu organizations as also activists viz. Shri. Pramod Sawant, Shri. Sanjay Paundkar, Shri. Anna Potdar, Shri. Shivajirao Sase, Shri. Dnyaneshwar Aswale, Shri. Hindurao Shelake, Shri. Ranajit Ayarekar, Shri. Anil Kulkarni, Shri. Jaikumar Khadake etc. were present. All of them paid a visit to Shri Mahalakshmi Temple premises and surroundings on 8th March.

Remove immediately the unauthorized lavatory built at Manikarnika Kund in Shri Mahalakshmi Devasthan ! – Sunil Ghanavat

The Action Committee has so far submitted representations, staged demonstrations and held press conferences for the demand that Manikarnika Kund be immediately opened for devotees, by closing down the unauthorized lavatory constructed within Shri Mahalakshmi Devasthan; but the Pashchim Maharashtra Devasthan Vyavasthapan Samiti (Samiti) and district administration has not yet taken note of the same. It is most condemnable and Shri. Sunil Ghanavat, the spokesperson of Action Committee angrily asked when the Samiti and District Administration were going to pay heed. He also informed that all pro-Hindu organizations will soon decide further course of action in the matter. Shri. Abhay Vartak said, “The Kund has become inconspicuous and it is very pathetic. The enthusiasm exhibited by all pro-Hindu activists for removing the unauthorized structure is commendable. On 9th March, a press conference will be held by the Action Committee and its future stand will be announced.”
