HJS submits memorandum to the Administration at various places against Crackers with Deities’ pictures

HJS demands a ban on the manufacture and sale of crackers with pictures of Deities and National Heroes

The members of HJS explained to two traders of crackers at Boisar and one at Malad besides Amar Enterprises and M. K. Shah about denigration of Deities taking place by sale of crackers with pictures of Deities. All 4 of them have assured that they will stop the sale of such crackers

Mumbai: There are pictures of Hindu Deities like Sree Lakshmi, Sree Krushma, Sree Vishnu etc. so also of leaders like Netaji Subhashchandra Bose on crackers burst on different occasions. When such crackers are burst, the pictures on them get torn to shreds and are scattered everywhere. These pieces are trampled upon by people walking on the roads. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has therefore, along with likeminded organizations started a drive even this year to stop the production and sale of such crackers. During the first stage of this drive, representations are being submitted to the Government officials at different places.

Mira Road and Bhyandar Police Station –  A representation was submitted on behalf of HJS to the senior Police Superintendent Amarsinh Nimbalkar at Bhayandar Police Station and to the senior Police Superintendent Avinash Sawant at Kanakia Police Station in Mira Road when HJS members viz. Mr. Datta Bendre, Suresh Sawant, Prakash Panhale, Ganesh Panhale, Mrs. Sunanda Prakash Panhale and Smt. Shalaka Pardeshi were present.

Mumbai Police Commissioner and Director General of Police (DGP) for the State –
Mumbai district Police Commissioner D. Shivanandan and DGP S. S. Wirk were submitted the representations in their respective offices by members of HJS that included Mr. Amit Datekar, Milnd Poshe, Mrs. Vidya Kamerkar, Mrs. Berde and Smt. Deepa Nagpal.

New Mumbai Police Commissioner – The members of HJS viz. Dr. Uday Dhuri, Mrs. Sneha Harmalkar and Smt. Nanda Shelke submitted a representation to New Mumbai Police Commissioner Mr. Gulabrao Pol in his office.

Tehsildar of Vasai Taluka –
A representation demanding a ban on the sale of crackers with pictures of Deities and great National Heroes was submitted by Mr. Dattatreya Bendre, Suresh Sawant, Ramesh Ashtekar, Mrs. Mangala Raut and Mrs. Archana Argekar on behalf of HJS to the Tehsildar of Vasai Taluka Mr. Avinash Kashthi. While praising the activities of HJS, he said, “The Government should impose a ban on such crackers. We shall be issuing a circular in this connection.”

Tehsildar of Dahanu and Mayor –
Mrs. Archana Andhare and Mr. Dayanand Jadiyar of HJS met the Tehsildar and Mayor of Dahanu to submit the representation regarding the ban on crackers.

Boisar Police Station – The members of HJS Mr. Pandit Chavan, Suresh Sawant, Dilip Bhandavale and Mahadev Chougule met the senior Police Inspector at Boisar Police Station for submitting the representation.

Andheri (W) Versova Police Station, D N Nagar Police Station and Andheri (E) Police Station – The members of HJS Mr. Simit Sarmalkar, Umesh Pawar, Mrs. Smita Tandel and Tanvi Sarmalkar contacted the above police stations and submitted representations to the respective senior Police Inspectors. While submitting the representation at Andheri (W) police station, HJS members viz Mr. Dayanand Katti, Jadhav, Rane and Bachhubhai Vishwakarma of Bajarang Dal were present.

Vasai Police Station – The members of HJS Mr. Pandit Chavan, Suresh Sawant, Dilip Bhandavale and Mahadev Chougule met Mr. Rajendra Naik, senior Police Inspector at Vasai Police Station and submitted the representation. He lauded the HJS drive.
