Members of Sriram Sena and HJS prevent the sale of cows to a butcher

Ashwin Shukla Ekadashi, Kaliyug Varsha 5111

Belgaum (Karnataka): A Hindu farmer from Nandihelli had planned to sell his cow to a butcher. (Among all animals, a cow is the most ‘sattvik [‘Sattva’-predominent] and has the capacity to imbibe the principles of 33 crores of Deities. Hindus, however, do not know the spiritual importance of a cow due to a lack of education related to Dharma and therefore, they do such things. There is no alternative to educate Hindus in matters related to Dharma if these things are to be prevented! – Editor SP) When members of Sriram Sena and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) learnt about the same, they enlightened the farmer and stopped the sale of his cow. (Congratulations to members of Sriram Sene and HJS for preventing the sale of a cow ! – Editor SP)

The farmer wanted to sell his cow as it had become infertile and had stopped giving milk. On coming to know this, 2 members of Sri Ram Sena went to Nandihalli which is about 8 KMs from their place to do their duty towards Dharma. The members of Srirama Sena and HJS were explaining the matter to the farmer when there were few more farmers and agents present. The farmers asked the members as to who would buy such cows if not the butchers. They said that they were going through a difficult time and would have to bear financial loss if they did not sell the cows and asked the members whether they would make good the losses. The members of Sriram Sena and HJS explained to the farmers the importance of the cow in Hindu Dharma. Finally, the farmer assured that he would not sell his cow to the butcher. Some of the selfish agents were, however, quite firm in their opinion. (For meager personal gains, these Hindus are not bothered to do something against their Dharma. Why then should Dharma i.e. God protect them during the period of crisis? – Editor SP) When the members said that they would neither allow the sale of the cow nor would they let the butcher buy the cow, the butcher ran away from the place.
