State-wide campaign of HJS on the occasion of Independence Day

Panaji(Goa): There have been incidents of abuse of National Flag, insecure temples, danger of terrorists attack, denigration of deities etc. occurring in the State. It is necessary that preventive measures are taken rather than finding solutions after such incidents take place. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has therefore, made an appeal to citizens to force their elected representatives to take such preventive measures.

On the occasion of Independence Day, HJS has started a drive to motivate people to force their elected representatives to take preventive measures. In this context, the above appeal was made by Mr. Jayesh Thali, the coordinator of HJS for the State of Goa through press conference. Local divisions of organisations like Shiv Sena, Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Dharma-shakti Sena and Sanatan Sanstha have taken active part in this drive. Mr. Namdeo Naik, the dy. chief of Shiv Sena for Goa, Dhanaraj Harmalkar of ‘Bharat Swabhiman Trust’, Mr. Vilas Sawant of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Mr. Sadashiv Dhond, the coordinator of Dharma-shakti Sena for Goa State, Mrs. Teja Borkar of Sanatan Sanstha etc. attended the press conference.

Mr. Thali said, “Dates have been fixed to meet 13 MLAs of BJP, Congress and MGO parties in this connection. 28 instances of idol-breaking have taken place in the State but no stringent action has been taken to avoid such instances in future. The Secret Agencies have warned us a number of times about terrorists attack. A truck loaded with Sree Ganesh idols, made of PoP, was stopped at Patradevi, Pedane but instead of taking action against the concerned, the whole truck disappeared. This shows the incompetency of our defence machinery.
