Know more about Idol Desecrations in Goa

O Hindus, although denigration of the idols of Deities is on the rise all over the country, the strong pro-Hindu organisations and those political parties which keep begging for votes do not wish to take any action except forwarding memorandums. Ask them to justify their actions !

Sawantwadi (Maharashtra): The face of the idol of Gramdevta (Village Deity) Sri Bhutnath of Malgaon in Sindudurg District was damaged by a sharp sickle and the sword in the right hand of the Deity was robbed. Pramod Samant from Malgaon-Brahmanali was arrested as a suspect in the crime and produced before the First Class Magistrate who has sentenced Samant to 15 days judicial custody.

Police have confiscated the sickle and the sword which was in the Deity’s hand from Samant’s house. The local residents are furious about the incident which happens to be the third such incident in that village. Due to the increasing number of such incidences in the District, the question of protecting the temples has become a priority. (Hindus should ask the Congress rulers whenever they meet them, as to what action they have taken regarding the continual denigration of idols of Deities all over the country and teach them a lesson in the forthcoming State elections! – Editor SP)

When Mr. Prakash Nhavelkar from Swantwadi went to the temple at about 11 o’clock in the morning, he noticed the damaged idol. He also witnessed a person running away on a bicycle. He gave this information to the villagers immediately. From Mr. Nhavelkar’s description of the culprit, the villagers suspected Pramod Samant to be the culprit. Mr. Gurunath Gaonkar and Mr. Uttam Gaonkar lodged a complaint in the Sawantwadi Police Station about the incident. The police conducted the necessary inquiry about the incident by going to the temple of Sri Bhutnath and arrested Pramod Samant who has admitted the crime. Pramod Samant is said to be a lunatic; although police have not accepted it officially. Police were strict while arresting Pramod Samant considering the gravity of the incident.

A detailed report of the incidences of denigration of idols and their robbery in Sindhudurg District

Few months back, there were incidences of denigration of idols in Malgaon Gramdevta Sri Ravalnath and the idols in Purvas Mandir, a joint Devasthan (Temple) of Sonurli-Malgaon. Along with these incidences of denigration, incidences like robbery of the ancient silver idol in Sri Rameshvar Temple, in Girye, District Devgad, damaging Tarangs (A painted pole representing protecting Deity) from Sri Vimleshvar Temple, uprooting and taking away the idol of Sri Darwajeshvar, also have taken place in the area. (Our temples are in danger in the Congress regime and the self proclaimed, strong pro-Hindu organizations and political parties too are sleeping. In such a situation, Hindus should prepare themselves to fight this menace by getting united ! – Editor SP)

The Police are unsuccessful in nabbing the criminals in all these incidences. (Such ineffective police system should be eradicated for not being able to nab the criminals despite repeated incidences of denigration of idols ! – Editor SP)
