Anti-Hindus oppose FACT exhibition on terrorism in Kashmir

Chaitra Krushna Chaturthi

Thane (Maharashtra): In Hanuman Temple in Balkum, Western part of Thane, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had planned to hold photo-exhibition devised by FACT on oppression of Hindus in Kashmir. The office bearers of the temple trust, however, refused to grant permission to put up the exhibition giving the excuse of causing tension in the area (An exhibition meant to give true information on atrocities against Hindus by terrorists in Kashmir was to be put up by HJS with an intention to unite Hindus. But Hindus are only refusing permission for the same. – Editor)

Shri. Dayanand Hazare, a member of HJS met the executive trustee of the temple committee seeking permission to hold the exhibition in the temple. On the night of 8th April, few members of HJS were making preparations for putting up the exhibition since the permission was granted. Two trustee members, however, came there and asked whether HJS had taken permission from the police to put up the exhibition. Shri. Ajay Sambhus, a member of HJS replied that permission from the police was not required in such case. To this, the trustee members said that the exhibition was too garish and could create problem. (Hindus are unaware about the dangers that they have got into right from Kashmir through out the country since nobody is ready to openly talk about such dangers; as such the real problem is for HJS from the opposing trustee members! – Editor).

The trustee said, “As the charts were going to be displayed all over the pavilion erected in the temple, one might ask whether the program is put up by HJS or by the temple on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. We will grant permission only to put up 5-6 charts. Do not put up charts all over the temple and try to put up charts that are mild.” (One may keep the charts aside but how can we overlook injuries of Hindus caused by the terrorists. Tomorrow, every Hindu may have to face the same situation. Nothing can, however, be about the people with mentality of an ostrich! – Editor)

Two members of HJS came at that time with a board on which there was some matter written on recent riots at Pusad (Dist. Yoetmal ). The trustees read the matter and said, “If you write such matters on the board, Hindus may get furious and can start rioting (HJS has been creating awareness among Hindus through these boards for the past few years and nowhere Hindus have been enraged and done anything wrong! – Editor). You don’t put up the exhibition at all. I am also a member of Bajarang Dal and even work for VHP (Such cowards refusing permission for the exhibition are supposed to be members of powerful Hindu Organizations! – Editor) I am also a devout Hindu; but you are not aware of the trouble we have gone through while constructing and renovating this temple.”

Shri. Hazare tried to explain to the other member of the trust when he granted permission to put up 6 mild charts. The local Vibhag-sevak of Shiv Sena came at this juncture and assured to arrange for a hall for putting up the exhibition instead of the temple. But considering the situation, HJS members decided to cancel the exhibition.
