Protests by Hindu Organisations at Nandurbar against the film Bajirao Mastani

Nandurbar : Various Hindu organisations united under the banner of Rashtriya Hindu Andolan and held protests demanding a ban on the film Bajirao Mastani for distorting the history of Shrimant Bajirao Peshwe and against the Telangana Govt.’s programme on Christmas day.

These protests were held on the morning of 12 December at 10 am, opposite the Tehsildar’s office in Nandurbar city. Activists of various Hindu organisations, namely, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Sanatan Sanstha, Shri Shivpratishthan Hindusthan, Purohit Sanghatna, Bahubhashik Brahmin Mahasangh, etc. participated in the protests.

While addressing the protest rally, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s Dr. Narendra Patil said, ‘It can be seen that instead of portraying Bajirao Peshwe as a valorous undefeated warrior, he is being portrayed as a lover boy in this film. Also, false history of the respectable women of the royal families is being shown through this film. Hence, this film should be banned.’
