Mumbai: Major Ramesh Upadhyay, an accused in Malegaon bomb blast case has applied in MOCCA Court seeking permission to contest forthcoming Parliamentary elections. In his application, he has mentioned, “Many people have earlier contested elections while undergoing imprisonment. I want to serve the people of my country.” The Court has granted stay till 18th March in this regard. Shri. Samir Kulkarni, another accused in Malegaon blast case has also expressed his wish to contest elections. Today, in MOCCA Court, hearing on bail application of Col. Purohit was postponed till 18th March.

In the application filed by Advocate Navin Chomal in the Court, on behalf of Major Upadhyay, it has been mentioned that Major Upadhyay has served in Army for 22 years after which he has been active in fighting corrupt Government administration. His past is very clean and commendable. He has been deliberately implicated in Malegaon bomb blast case; but the allegations are baseless and we hope that he will be soon discharged from all false charges filed against him. He also has right to contest election and serve his country under the Indian Constitution.

News of Sadhvi Pradnya Singh interested in contesting election was telecast on ZEE news channel.

Why devout and patriotic Hindus should not contest election in the present time?

  • There is a saying in Sanskrit that ‘Wise should not live in a country of fools’. When the electorate has no pride for their nation and Dharma, devout and patriots should not contest election.
  • It is futile to take help of democracy to bring improvement in the present condition of this country and establish righteousness when it is the very cause of such condition.
  • Muslims will raise funds for imprisoned ‘jihadis’, will canvass for them and get them elected because they are proud of their religion; but Hindus will, as usual, elect candidates who are criminals, corrupt and fanatics as they have no pride for their religion.
