Devout Hindus holding demonstrations at Pune

Pune : So-called environmentalists are opposing to traditional immersion of Ganesh idols in flowing water by equating it with pollution. Ganesh-devotees are forced at many places to donate their idols or immerse them in artificial water tanks erected by spending crores of rupees. As per the information received under RTI, Shri Ganesh idols are carried in garbage vans and thrown like trash in trenches and river; causing desecration of Ganesh idols and leading to hurting religious sentiments of Hindus.  The drives of donation of idols and their immersion in artificial water tanks should therefore, be banned and Shri Ganesh idols should be immersed in flowing natural water bodies as prescribed in ‘Dharmashastra’. The above demand was made by devout Hindus during demonstrations held under the aegis of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan (RHA)’ at Pune and Pimpri.

Demonstrations were held on 5th September between 4.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. under RHA near Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar statue Chowk in Pimpri and in front of N. M. V School, Bajirao Road in Pune. More than 100 devout Hindus participated in demonstrations at both the places.

Shri. Vijay Gawade, Pune city convener of ‘Patit Pavan Sanghatana’, Sou. Rashmi Naik of Sanatan Sanstha; Shri. Yogesh Dimbale of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) at Pune and Shri. Anant Korhale, municipal councilor of MNS, Shri. Shekhar Tandale of Sanatan Sanstha and Shri. Sandesh Kadam of HJS addressed the devout demonstrators at Pimpri.

Or do they purposely turn blind eye ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) The activists told the policeman that the information was already given. Police were taking down names of even women activists present there.
  2. At Pimpri, 8 policemen from special branch were present and 3 of them were asking for names of HJS activists.
