Desecration of Sree Saibaba’s idol at Pomburfa, Goa

Panaji (Goa): Sree Saibaba’s idol at Pomburfa, Chodan was desecrated by heretics on 6th September by cutting off the head of the idol. This is the second time that this idol has been desecrated. (Incidents of desecration of deities and saints in Goa are happening on a regular basis. Such incidents are on the rise because of lack of unity in Hindus! – Editor)

It was first desecrated on 25th July 2008. A complaint was lodged by the temple authorities after the first desecration incident. However, the police and government did not take any action. (Had such an incident occurred in case of other faiths, would the police show such indifference in nabbing the culprits? – Editor)

Thus, the temple authorities did not file a complaint with the police after the second desecration incident. The desecrated headless idol is still being worshipped in the same condition. (Why do Hindus build temples and worship idols when 1) they are incapable of taking care of these idols, 2) they worship the desecrated idol in the same condition and 3) they do not even lodge a police complaint or agitate regarding such incidents? – Editor)
