Panaji (Goa): The Akhil Goa Mandir Suraksha Samiti (AGMSS) has organised a ‘public weapon worship’ programme on the occasion of Dussehra at 111 places in Goa. This was decided at the AGMSS’ taluka convenor’s meeting held at Dr. Hedgevar School recently.

In the present times, the Hindu community is flabbergasted due to the teachings of non-violence and its over-tolerant attitude. So, it has lost its inner strength. Thus, it does not possess the strength to fight back and defend itself inspite of numerous attacks on it. Due to this pitiable state of the Hindu community, it is unable to curb the increasing incidences of desecration of Hindu deities. Thus, in order to instill new vigour in the powerless Hindu community and remind it that even Hindu deities have weapons in their hands, the AGMSS has organised the above program.

The past incidences of idol desecration have deeply hurt the Hindu soul. Thus, as a natural instinct, the above decision has been taken as a measure of self protection. The land of Gomantak (Goa) is also known as the ‘Parshuram bhoomi’. Hence, the weapon ‘parshu’ is also going to be worshipped in the above program. This meeting was conducted by the State Convenors of the AGMSS, viz. Shri. Vinayak Chari, Shri. Rajendra Velingkar and Shri. Jayesh Thali. The AGMSS urges all Hindus to participate wholeheartedly in this programme and serve Hindu Dharma.
