Initially, there was a setback, as the police officers told that they have not been informed of the protest and asked for a written permission for the same. They also told that the protest cannot be allowed without a written permission, and if we continue to protest, they might have to take us into custody. After some discussion and assurance, the Assistant Commissioner of Nungambakkam area who was present there, gave the permission and requested us to finish the protest within half an hour. He also requested that the Ambur problem should not be brought up in the program.

The protest started with a prayer and Jaighosh. Gusty slogans were said aloud by Dharmabhimanis demanding the immediate construction of Shriram Mandir at Ayodhya. Few important dignitaries like Shri. Radhakrishnan and Shri. Jayam Pandian of Shivsena, Shri. R.D.Prabhu of Bharath Hindu Munnani, Shri. Kodambakkam of All India Hindu Mahasabha, Shri. Pala Santhosh of Hindu Youth Jagruth Forum, gave fiery speeches. Sou.
