Karnataka Govt failed in following the order of SC about animal slaughter : HJS

Bangaluru : In the 2012 the Supreme Court had given an order to all states and central govt to obey ‘The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 2000’, ‘The environment (protection) act, 1986’ and ‘MSW handling rules, 2000’ ; but Karnataka Govt has failed to obey the order with respect to animal slaughter houses, alleged Shri. Guruprasad Gowda, HJS coordinator of the State, in the press conference. Adv. Diyya Balehittal of Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad and HJS spokesperson of the State, Shri. Mohan Gowda were present there.

Shri. Guruprasad Gowda said, “The Supreme Court has given an order to the Govt. here to establish a committee, to stop cruelty to animals, pollution that is created due to animal killing and to give surprise visits to slaughter houses for inspection. The Court had also asked for submitting yearly report to Central committee. But the State committee has failed completely to follow the conditions laid down by the Supreme Court. The committee has even failed to submit the yearly report concerning slaughter houses, has been proved from the information received through RTI.”
