Ishvarpur (Islampur): A workshop was organised  by HJS in connection with improving the quality of life for higher secondary school students. 1600 students from Palus and Baramati who participated in this decided not to light crackers this Diwali. When speaking about the campaign Shri Kalidas Patil said that to conserve Nature special steps have been adopted. Information on the manufacture of fire crackers, pollution, child labour and deleterious effects of fire crackers on different aspects of Nature were discussed. Students came up with several constructive ideas to celebrate Diwali and other festivals and then decided to to stop use of fire crackers. (It is a crime to spend crores of rupees on fireworks every year when the country is in debt . Those lighting fire crackers are anti-nationalist and anti-religious. Fire crackers affect the physical, mental, and spiritual health of man to a great extent. We applaud  the students who have become decided not to burn fire crackers at least to prevent pollution.- Editor)
