Denigration of Lord Ganesha by ‘Maharashtra Times’

Thane (Maharashtra): In its issue dated 7th September 2007, Maharashtra Times (MT) has published a denigrating picture of Sree Ganesha in its supplement called ‘Weekend’. (Hindus must take ‘MT’ to task. – Editor) An appeal is made to prepare Sree Ganesha idols from pulp of paper under the drive ‘Eco friendly’. These idols are very light in weight. (It is against Dharma to make an appeal for making Sree Ganesha idols from paper pulp or wood or trash. Those who are appealing people to celebrate the festival of Sree Ganesh in such unscientific manner are enemies of Hindu Dharma. – Editor)

On the first page of the ‘Weekend’ supplement, a denigrating picture of Sree Ganesha has been published under the heading ‘Sree Eco- friendly Ganeshaya Namah’. In this picture, the face of Sree Ganesha has been shown in the form of a cloud and is shown in sky blue colour whereas portion of His feet is shown as green grass. The picture has been drawn by Shri. Chandrakant Ganacharya. (Will MT dare to play with objects of worship related to other religions? Newspapers are indulging in denigration of Hindu deities only because Hindus have no respect for their religion. – Editor)

Sanatan Sanstha advocates sculpting Sree Ganesha idols with clay and use of natural colours to paint the idols. As per the spiritual science, the idol should not be taller than 1 and ½ meter. Idols sculpted as per the science of sculpture draw maximum Sree Ganesha principle and devotee can get more benefit. Anything done as per the science of spirituality is eco-friendly. Nowadays, some organizations appeal to prepare eco-friendly idols which are made from either paper pulp or wood. Here, they take care of only conservation of nature and not ‘Dharma-shastra’. Spiritual science takes care of overall development of mankind.
