Tiles with pictures of deities removed under HJS guidance

By Staff Reporters

Chopda: Vivekanand Hospital had fitted tiles with pictures of deities on the staircase of its building to prevent people from spitting. Members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) visited the hospital and explained to the doctors and other staff of the hospital regarding denigration of deities. The tiles have since been removed and notice of ‘Do not spit’ has been put up on the staircase.

In the ‘Out-patient Ward’ of Vivekanand Hospital, tiles with pictures of Sai Baba and Goddess Sree Lakshmi were fitted on the staircase to stop people from spitting. In a HJS meeting, Shri. Dilip Mali, a Hindu devout, informed this matter to its members. Immediately after the meeting, members of HJS went to Vivekanand Hospital and explained to the doctors about denigration of deities. Doctors agreed that it was a mistake as they had no knowledge on the issue and assured to immediately remove such tiles. Later the staff of the hospital was also approached by HJS and explained about denigration and they also agreed for removal of such tiles.

A person, accompanying a patient admitted to the hospital informed HJS members that he had noticed the tiles and had felt that it was not proper to fit such tiles with deities’ pictures; but he did not give further thought to it.

(If all Hindus become aware of such denigration, it will result in Dharma-revolution. Why will God bestow His grace on such Hindus who do not try to stop denigration? – Editor)
