Pune (Maharashtra):  Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has arranged the exhibition on the subject ‘Terrorism in Kashmir and Hindu Genocide’. The exhibition held at Bal Gandharva hall in Pune concluded with almost 20,000 citizens visiting the exhibition in 3 days. Every citizen who visited the exhibition was moved to learn about the situation in Kashmir. Many showed interest in participating in the activities of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and felt that such exhibition should be held all over the country and we must fight terrorism.

“Our Hindu brethren in Kashmir are going through such difficult and heart-rending situation; fighting terrorism; but still they have managed to live as Hindus. The Government and even media have tried to conceal this situation and the facts from public as also protected terrorists”, Citizens of Pune gave their reactions in the above manner after visiting the photo exhibition on ‘Terrorism in Kashmir and genocide of Hindus’. The alert citizens of Pune felt that it was necessary that every Hindu knows about the atrocities against Hindus living in Kashmir.

Heart-rending condition of Kashmiri Hindu Pundits due to incapable politicians

  • In the refugee camp, there is only one bathroom for 300 occupants.
  • Kashmiri Hindus used to live in their palatial multi-storied houses are now staying as refugees with 20 persons in a room.
  • There are snakes and scorpions in these camps; there is no drainage facility in the camps. Camp is surrounded by kilns. About 5000 Hindus could not bear such distressing condition and died.
  • Condition of temples is pitiable.
  • Shiva-linga from Shiva temple in Sree Nagar has been removed. Ganesh idol in a temple at Vasant baug has been damaged.
  • In most of the temples, obscene matter is written on the walls or pictures drawn denigrating deities.
  • Hindus have been driven out of their homes. Their houses as also villages have been burnt. In good houses, Muslims have encroached.
  • Hindus fighting such atrocities have been brutally murdered. A Hindu couple was tied to a jeep and dragged all the way and later killed.
  • In Vandhama village, 23 Hindus were killed after amputating their limbs whereas in Chitthising village, the cruelty has crossed its limits in killing 36 Sikhs.

H.H. Swami Govindadevagiri Maharaj (formerly H.H. Acharya Kishorji Vyas) appealed to Hindus that now it is high time they abandoned the deluding and foolish concept of ‘equality of all religions’. He said that this change would be truly in the interest of Hindus. This was His public address after inaugurating a photo exhibition held by the HJS in collaboration with the ‘Panun Kashmir’ organization, titled ‘Terrorism in Kashmir and wiping out of Hindus (rather revelation of the truth)’.

He further said, “This very concept of ‘equality of all religions’ is responsible for the deterioration of Hindu Dharma and was created by politicians solely with the selfish motive of procuring votes. For those Hindus who boast that the Hindu Dharma is eternal and will never die Kashmir is an outstanding example of how Hindus there are being eliminated systematically so as to wipe them out completely. They should take a lesson or two from this. The saint also emphasized on the need to create a Hindu vote bank.

(Despite such extreme atrocities, Hindus in Kashmir are proud to live as Hindus. Although living the life as refugees, they are loyal to Hindu Dharma like Dharmaveer Sambhaji Raje. If other Hindus do not learn a lesson from their example, within no time, Hindus will be annihilated. If your blood does not boil after reading the above, you are not true Hindu! All incompetent politicians, who are responsible for such condition of Hindus, need to be driven out and there is no alternative but to build Hindu vote bank. – Editor)

[pagebreak title=’Speech by Dr. Durgesh Samant’]

The speech delivered by Dr. Durgesh Samant, National Spokesperson of the HJS on the occasion of inaugural function of the exhibition at Balgandharva Natyamandir, Pune from 22nd April 2007 to 24th April 2007.

Firstly, I pay obeisance to the most worshipped deity of Pune, Sree Ganesh, my Guru H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj and the founder of Sanatan Sanstha H.H. Dr. Jayant Athavale and H.H. Swami Govind Devagiriji Maharaj who is present on the dais. I also pay obeisance to the other dignitaries present, viz. Prof. Asnani, Dr. Chrungoo, Shri. Godbole and all the devout Hindus in front of me who have been listening intently the speeches delivered by all the speakers. Actually, all these speakers on dias are experienced, spiritually evolved and senior to me. Every word of the guidance that they have imparted has given us direction for a lifetime to undertake activities related to Hindutva. I do not possess the capability to speak something beyond their thoughts and the analysis presented by them about the issue. However I shall express a few words in the capacity of the National Spokesperson of the HJS.

Meeting with a displaced Kashmiri named Shri. Bhat at Sambhajinagar

Firstly, Let me narrate you an incident that occurred two months ago. We had conducted a camp at Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), two months ago. It was a two-day camp conducted for members of the Warkari sect and certain other ardent Hindus. The objective being that few people in the society who wish to contribute their bit should know all aspects about Hinduism, and the various problems that it faces today. The first topic we had presented before them was ‘Problems faced by Kashmiri Hindus’. We had an exhibition prepared by ‘Foundation against Continuous Terrorism (FACT)’ depicting the difficulties faced by Kashmiri Hindus and the terrorism in Kashmir at the same venue. Incidently a displaced Kashmiri Hindu Shri. Bhat had come to see the exhibition. I took him to the aforesaid audience and told him that if you say something it will better. This platform is for you. You can take all the time you need and open up your heart to the audience. Shri. Bhat and his father narrated the history of Kashmir, change in circumstances and the happenings in Kashmir. I would once again like to assert, "The HJS’ platform is for such individuals who continually strive to do something for Hindus and Dharma."

Hindus, see this photo exhibition and introspect!

About such photo exhibitions, in some places, we were questioned about why we are doing all this? What is the need for it, etc? We said ‘You see the photo exhibition and then ask yourself this question.’ Any one, in whom the viewing of that moment does not stir a heartfelt response, should question if he is human at all. Such is the reality. Such a person should ask himself if he is worthy of prostrating before any deity in the name of being a Hindu. If seeing these pictures evokes no response in us, remember that nothing can save us. If seeing this photo exhibition does not make us introspective, there should be some internal agitation, something should stir within us – then, I would say that you have actually seen this exhibition. And if nothing of the sort happens, definitely note it as being a matter of grave concern. Today, let us introspect, let us honestly ask ourselves – why am I witnessing this situation? What is the cause? Who is responsible for it? Can I publicly declare these causes without fear? If I cannot because I do not have the courage, then there is still something for me to achieve in this life. Am I doing anything to bring about a change in this situation? You ought to look within yourself for the answers to these questions even as you take a look at the exhibition. At many places the exhibitions about the mass murders of the Jews by the Nazis are there. Perhaps we Hindus do not want any reminders of unhappiness, we try to keep them under wraps, and let go of the bad memories – this is wrong.

What Chancelar Shroder said to survivors of AUSWITZ

In 2005 to commemorate its 60th year of liberation, Auswitz International Committee invited German Chancellor Shroder. Speaking on that occasion, he said that all these events are a part of our national identity, and we will never forget them. If we wish to protect culture and human values, we should constantly remember how they were trampled upon. Only then can we safeguard culture and human values. He went on to further say that the Happenings in the Auswitz camp leave no doubt about the existence of the devil. The devil is not a political or scientific entity; yet, witnessing such episodes should leave us in no doubt of it’s existence.

The remarkable sacrifice of the Kashmiri Hindus for their religion

In spite of these incidents from the past repeatedly haunting us, behaving as if we have not heard of it, understood it, or seen it, is the biggest delusion. On 19th January 1990, it was ordered at various places that all Hindus should leave Kashmir. It was publicly declared and advertised in the newspapers and the entire Hindu society had to leave Kashmir. They had three options. Convert to Islam and participate in Jihad, face death or leave. Those Hindus made a great sacrifice. In order to save their religion, with their own hands, they cut their ties with their land, their memories, and their childhood and relocated themselves to other places. In one sense, it is laudable that even today, such remarkable sacrifices are made for the sake of religion. But, in another sense, we should be ashamed of such happenings. We ought to be saddened that we have been reduced to this condition. Are we calling this a cultured world or an uncivilized one? And what is the reason for the Hindus in a Hindu predominent nation to be reduced to this state?

See the photo exhibition and store it in your memory

I explained to you the reason why such exhibitions are held all over the world. After seeing this exhibition, you too should feel that these pictures should always remain in our sight and in our mind. Only then is there any possibility of us doing anything to protect Hinduism. If we do not retain any such memories, rest assured that this Hindu society deserves to be destroyed.

Hindus in Kashmir wiped out in 17 years

The question arises about how these things were happening so openly on such a large scale, ? Atrocities were being perpetrated of such magnitude and what were we doing? How did news of these events not reach us? If it did, why was the gravity of it not conveyed to us? Why didn’t we wake up? One of the reasons was that those who understood the matter did not speak of it. They behaved as if they had noticed nothing, heard nothing and understood nothing and the fruit of this continues from 1990 till 2007. As a result, we come face to face with these events in such a manner after 17 years. After 17 years, there is no Hindu left in the valley.

The mass media did not convey information to the public about the atrocities committed by the terrorists on the Hindus

The destruction of the lineage of the Hindus that took place over there is spreading beyond that particular area. Terrorism is knocking at our door. The mass media has not played its role. Remember that the media that we trust did not inform us of these atrocities to its fullest extent. Do not harbor any faith that they will do so in the future. We have to gear up to spread this information ourselves. If these conditions have to change, each of us has the responsibility of utilizing our capabilities completely. We have physical ability. Everyone has an hour to spare everyday. You are educated and you may have some small financial capaability. If you are doing some spiritual practice, you will have some spiritual capability. Utilizing whatever capability you possess is the need of the hour. Perhaps our votes will not be influential in an election; we have already seen that our numbers ( present for this function )are small. Any individual who can speak with conviction on all topics is considered an intellectual by society. You are educated Hindus, think about these attacks on Hinduism and whatever honourable persons say. Define your thoughts, and make a dedicated effort to present them in society. Perhaps the first and second efforts will be unsuccessful, but the later, you will keep achieving success. If you wish to change public opinion, do not wait for some other great thinker to come and do so. If you begin this task, definitely, better thinkers and warriors will be created. Time is running out.

Nature is not responsible to keep Hinduism alive

The Kashmiriwho attended that camp said that if, prior to 1990, he had been told that in 20 years time, you will have to leave all this and go away, he would not have believed it. But after 20 years, we were faced with that reality. As P. P. Swamiji GovindDevGiri said, I too have no doubts that after a few years, we will be faced with a similar situation if we do not act now. Because this is the law of nature. If we are content with leading our life as it is and do not do anything for Hinduism, it is not nature’s responsibility to save us Hindus. It is a law of nature that one who roots himself firmly, and stands upright, survives. One who does not root himself firmly has no right to exist. The efforts we make in this direction are of prime importance.

Hindus, take up writing to voice your protest against atrocities!

Often, I meet people who express a different point of view or provide fresh insight about such problems. I often ask them why they don’t write it out and send it to any newspaper. If you have this fire within you, if you want to change things, being educated, the least you can do is to take up writing. Unfortunately, our education is limited to the objective of getting a job and earning money. Sad to say, we never utilize this education for ourselves, to write a letter to the editor protesting against the atrocities being committed on Hindus. We have never been taught this. From today, we ought to teach ourselves this and pass it on to the next generation. If we do not develop the capacity to counteract, regardless of the growth of the physical body, the mind remains underdeveloped, and we will be unable to combat. Swatantryaveer Savarkar was once asked a question, “Why do you keep writing these letters in spite of knowing that they are not published? Don’t you know that letters from Hindus are not published”? Savarkar replied, “Never mind if the letter is not published, but it will have to be read by at least one person to rule it out – at least he will be made aware of my thoughts”. Conditions today are such that we should not remain under the delusion that any one action of ours will create a miracle. Take up writing with the conviction that at least one person will read it. If we are unable to do this, we can never develop the mental strength to resist terrorism.

Hindus ought to oppose the onslaughts through ideological combat

In today’s rapid changing world, we must make optimal utilization of available resources in an intelligent manner. Hindus do not have the backing of any kind of media for that matter. If it is possible for anyone to speak out, it is essential that a thousand voices speak out. Hence, rather than being satisfied with the fact that one Hindutvavadi newspaper is able to survive, it is essential to have many such newspapers in each and every district – only then can there be a change in the conditions. While publishing Sanatan Prabhat, we do not bother about how many copies are sold. We concentrate on the fact that the thought to be presented is of paramount importance. Because even if we accumulate a large number of readers, but if they do not get a clear idea, the number has no value. But if you keep impressing on society pure thoughts, and point out the road ahead, what is right and what is not, the numbers will swell. Four today, will become 40 tomorrow. Most importantly, the clarity of thought is a guarantee of reaching the goal. Even if our existence on this earth, in this world, comes to an end, our thoughts will continue to live, since the purpose of these thoughts has been explained. At the very least, Hindus ought to immediately ideologically oppose every small attack on them, in whatever manner possible. This is service towards righteousness (Dharma). It is of no use if we are not going to use our education for this, and have the illusion that some small act of ours is a great contribution.

Draw inspiration from the photo exhibition of Panun Kashmir!

Seeing this photo exhibition should awaken in us thoughts of what we are going to do in this regard. Draw some inspiration from it. This photo exhibition will remain in Pune City for a few more days. Later, it will be held at Pimpri – Chinchwad too, followed by Dharashiv and Jalgaon. If you need pamphlets, ask the organizers. Each and every pamphlet is precious, give it to your relatives, friends, doctor, lawyer and any one else. Request them to come and see this exhibition. If you have any relatives at Pimpri – Chinchwad, Dharashiv, pass on this pamphlet to them. If even 5 relatives of each person can be motivated to at least come and see this exhibition, it will be worth all the painstaking efforts of Dr. Ajay Chrungoo and his volunteers. This photo exhibition is a result of their great sacrifice and will definitely cast an impression on your soul. After seeing this exhibition, I am sure you will definitely get the motivation to do something for survival, for Hinduism. Please do the minimum possible for this cause; please take the pamphlets that are available with the organizers. I thank you for being present here and listening to these thoughts, but let us not stop here. We have to go to work with a thousand hands and a thousand mouths, and now is the time for action. Rest assured, if we do not do it today, wanting to do it tomorrow would be of no use. Enter the exhibition with a firm resolve and exit out with complete conviction in your decision. With this, I end my speech. Thank you!

Hindus should become sensitive to fight against terrorism! – Dr. Ajay Chrungoo

The speech delivered by Dr. Ajay Chrungoo

(Introduction: Dr. Ajay Chrungoo is the Chairman of the ‘Panun Kashmir’ association. Through the medium of ‘Panun Kashmir’, he has conducted a survey of the situation created by fanatic terrorists in the Kashmir valley and has made these facts known to the world. Likewise, in this regard, he has spread the word in different parts of the country and the worldover too. He was present at the Round Table Conference organised by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on the 24th April to present the problems of the Kashmiri Pandits.)

The world must know about the atrocities committed upon Kashmiri Hindus

Wherever events of racial violence have occurred; there exists a common problem the worldover. Those who have suffered from such violence are unable to present their side to the world. ‘What happened exactly?’ at the place where such incidents have occurred should be made known to the citizens of the nation. We get to hear and read very little about the situation that has developed in our country due to the forces of Islamic fundamentalism over a period of several years.

There were attempts made to hide the true condition of the Hindus living in Kashmir

We get only some information about the condition of the Hindus who stayed back in Bangladesh after the partition, the condition of the Hindu temples there and the treatment meted out to them. This is because there is no effort from our side to take note of the events occurring there. There is very less information available about the fate that befell the Hindus left behind in Pakistan and their heritage spots post-Partition. When the Hindus were displaced from Kashmir, it took a very long time for the Government to realize the enormity of this event. Later, there was an attempt to hide this from the entire country.

After the Hindus were displaced, when there was a survey of the valleys in Kashmir, we made a resolve to collect pictures of the issues related to the Kashmiri Hindus displacement and place them before the public. The major obstacle in this task was to gather information about what happened to the temples, houses and places of worship of the Hindus after their displacement, because all these places are in located in inaccessible areas. Many places are without any law and order, they are governed by terrorists. Due to these reasons, it took three years to collect all information. We have made an attempt to observe what has happened in every district of the Kashmir valley. In every district inhabited by Hindus, we visited 20 such villages. We did an overview of what happened in the entire valley after the displacement of the Hindus from Kashmir.

Hindu temples and houses destroyed

There were about 250 – 300 temples, of these, I have actually seen that 150 temples were completely destroyed. These have been burnt or broken down. In places where Hindu houses were close-by, they too have been burnt down. The Hindu houses situated in Muslim localities have been broken one at a time, or have been taken over by the Muslims. The process of destroying the temples and houses of the Hindu localities continues to this day.

The psyche of the terrorists is responsible for their acts of violence

Many people said that by killing few people, a few terrorists could scare the minority Hindus, but not the entire society. There were long discussions in the country about how the society of Kashmir is not connected with the terrorists. Through this exhibition, we have made an attempt to show that the terrorist may commit murder, but the acts of pulling down temples, destroying their sanctum sanctorum and drawing obscene pictures on the walls of the temples, are possible only if he resorts to a mass movement. This however, is not the doing of the terrorists alone, it is the manifestation of their mentality that has spread its tentacles in the entire society! The entire society is party to the burning and looting and selling of the items, wood and building materials found in the Hindu houses. A few people may kill some people, but destroying the area where an entire society is residing cannot be done by a few people! This is the handiwork of the entire society.

Terrorism: The poison of Jihad that has been systematically spread throughout the country

The main objective behind our exhibition is to help you to realize the psyche behind terrorism; because this is not a problem restricted to Kashmir alone. It has spread beyond Kashmir to Jammu and is moving further to the rest of the country! Terrorism is an illusory war. There are times when you feel the enemy is in front of you, and there are times when you feel he is not. It seems that if the terrorist act occurred there, it will not happen here. We all believe that acts of terrorism are for publicity. We believe that there is complete planning much before the monster of the terrorism of Jihad announces its move. Do not consider the killing of a scientist in Bangalore to be an isolated incident. Experts say that in all the places where the war of Jihad is going on, the declaration of Jihad is made only after meticulous, complete planning. Hence, it is our request that you should think about all these happenings. This is a widespread poison. Innumerable people are associated with it. This violence continues unabated in society. And it cannot be combated until we become sensitive to it.
