The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Monday sought a reply from Information & Broadcasting Ministry over a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), challenging the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s photographs on Central Government’s advertisements.
Acting on the PIL filed by a Jabalpur based advocate, Arun Shukla, High Court bench, comprising Chief Justice AM Khanvelar and Justice KK Lahoti, issued notice to the I&B Ministry in this regard.
Petitioner Shukla has said that the by placing photographs of Sonia Gandhi on Central Government’s advertisements, the Congress is trying to give her undue publicity.
He also demanded removal of Gandhi’s photographs from Government’s advertisement with an immediate effect.
Next hearing of the case is scheduled on January 15.
