Barely a week after forcibly shutting down a swanky eatery in Mumbai for its criticism of the UPA Government’s anti-people policies, youth Congress leaders are at their hooligan best again.

Pradeep Tiwari, a Congress youth member in Rajasthan threatened to “chop the hands” of any policemen who “puts a hand on me.”

A report published in a local daily said that Tiwari, who runs on a Congress ticket as councilor, was among a group of youth drinking alcohol in the open late on Sunday, in Jaipur’s Sector-8.

When confronted by a police patrol, the goons threw bottles of wine on the policemen and escaped into the dark. The police had almost given up the chase, until Tiwari entered the Vidyadhar Nagar police station, reportedly in an inebriated condition.

The Congress leader then threatened to set the police station ablaze and even threatened to “chop the hands” of any policemen who “puts a hand on me.”

He said he would “break the legs” of any policemen who “had the courage” to step out of the station.

He was subsequently arrested by the Vidyadhar Nagar police for ‘threatening peace’. On conducting a medical examination, the police confirmed that Tiwari was indeed under the influence of alcohol.

Congress leaders have made a habit out of taking the law into their own hands.

On July 22, Congress youth wing members barged into a Mumbai eatery and forced its closure, for a simple reason that the restaurant owner dared the UPA Government by printing bills slamming it over corruption.

The owner of the restaurant – Aditi Pure Veg, Srinivas Shetty, had printed the note on food bills protesting against the tax levied on AC restaurants.  The note on receipts state: “As per the UPA Government, eating money (2G, Coal, CWG scam) is a necessity and eating food in an AC restaurant is a luxury”.
