HJS lodged complaint against ‘Orkut’ for denigration

Solapur: On the ‘Orkut’ website denigrated pictures of Lord Rama and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, worshipped and revered by all Hindus have been published, so also, very abusive language has been used against them besides against Hanuman, Bharatiya flag. A complaint has, therefore, been lodged that it has hurt feelings of all Hindus. The police have registered an offense under clause 67 of Information and Technology Act, 2000 and under clauses 292 and 295 (A) of Indian Penal Code. A complaint has been lodged on behalf of HJS demanding strict action to be taken against the offenders. While lodging the complaint, leaders of many Hindu organizations were present along with the member of HJS. It has been stated in the complaint that the website ‘Orkut’ has stooped to very low level in desecrating Hindu deities and five communities have been found on this website indulging in such low denigration. On behalf of HJS, we condemn the matter so published. The said matter has hurt feelings, religious as well as national, of all Hindus.

People writing in such deprecating language about Prabhu Sree Rama and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj can not be so ignorant that they are not aware of the supremacy of the two revered personalities. It therefore, indicates a deliberate malevolence on the part of the ‘community’. In the recent winter session of State Legislative Assembly held in Nagpur, Shri. Vasant Dawkhare the Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council had ordered the Government to ban the website but no action has been taken. Even the special ‘Cyber Cell’ started by the police department is sleeping over such offences. HJS also lodged a complaint against ‘Orkut’ at Dharashiv.

Police ill equipped to handle cyber complaints

Members of HJS had gone to a police station to register a complaint against ‘Orkut’ website when the police had refused to register the complaint and had told the members that such types of offenses can be registered only at ‘Cyber Cell’ at Pune or Mumbai

Jalgaon: Members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) went to the police station to register complaint against the website ‘Orkut’ for deplorable denigration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Prabhu Sree Rama. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) told the members that complaint on this matter would be registered after studying the subject and checking the relevant procedure.

Earlier, members of HJS had gone to another police station to register the same complaint against ‘Orkut’ website when the police had refused to register the complaint and had told the members that such types of offenses can be registered only at ‘Cyber Cell’ at Pune or Mumbai.

HJS members therefore, again went to the DSP to submit a representation. The DSP contacted ‘Cyber Cell’ to enquire and told the members that it was an international ploy and he would study the method of registering complaint on such issues and accordingly, inform them. He expressed his inability to take down the complaint. Leaders of BJP warned that all Hindus would flare up in anger if necessary action is not taken in this regard. The spokesperson of HJS said that although 1400 complaints have been lodged against anti-Hindu painter M F Hussain for denigrating Hindu deities; nothing has been done and even now, he is holding exhibitions of his paintings.
