Anti-Hindus denigrate Lord Ganesh idol

Shahagad: At Shahagad, tal. Ambad in Jalna district, which is a Muslim predominant area, Lord Ganesh idol in a temple was found desecrated. Such anti-Hindu act has hurt feelings of Hindus. As a mark of protest, all shops remained closed for a day.

In the Ganapati temple, the idol of Lord Ganesh had marks as if the idol was dug with some kind of sharp weapon creating a dent on it. It was also observed that someone had tried to uproot the idol of Hanuman that was next to the idol of Lord Ganesh. When the locals came to know about the incident, the atmosphere became tense. About a thousand Hindus gathered near the temple. Sensing the gravity of the situation, leaders of nationalist Congress lodged a complaint with the police. Police reached the place after 20 minutes. As a mark of protest, leaders of Shiv Sena and other leaders of religious institutions called a ‘bandh’. Leaders of various political parties visited the place and appealed to people to remain calm.

In the afternoon, ‘Maha-aarati’ was performed after applying vermilion ‘ shendur’ to the idol. It was decided to re-consecrate the idol on the occasion of ‘Ganesh Jayanti’ on 22nd January. In this case, a complaint has been lodged against unidentified persons and no arrests have been made so far.

(Due to inactiveness and tolerance of Hindu community such kinds of incidence are occurring. Due to eunuch politicians the attacks on Hindu temples similar to pre-independence time are repeated after independence. Hindus, what preparation have you made for protecting your religious places ? Editor)
