#HindusRiseAsOne trends on Twitter as netizens raise concern against suppression of Hindus

India is the country where Hindus are in majority and hence it is also called as ‘Hindustan’. But today, Hindus are being suppressed from all sides, be it police and administration or jihadi fanatics or other factors. Few latest examples are Lynching of 2 Saints and their driver by mob in Palghar, attack on a Saint in Punjab, Police taking action against fruit sellers and other vendors for hoisting saffron flags on their shops.

Today (28 April) is also a special day, Shri Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti, who reinstated Dharma in 8th century. On this auspicious occasion, Hindus took to Twitter to raise their concerns about suppression of Hindu society from all sides and they also voiced necessity of unity of Hindus. The hashtag #HindusRiseAsOne was used by most of these netizens and it became one of the top 10 national trends on Twitter. For around 4 hours, the trend was in top 10 and for around 2 hours, it was on 4th and 5th spot. More than 25,000 tweets were tweeted using this particular hashtag.
