Cognizance of HJS complaint against distortion of Indian Map

Mumbai: The Goregaon Police Station today has registered a case against the German ‘B & R Automation Company Pvt Ltd’ with branch in Pune, for distortion of Indian Map under the ‘Prevention of Insult to National Emblem Act 1971’ on the basis of the complaint filed by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti(HJS).

During the period of 27th to 30th September, the third International Exhibition was held at NSC Ground in Goregaon. At that time the above mentioned company in their information leaflet ‘Automation 2006’ had shown the region of Jammu and Kashmir incomplete in the map of India. So also the islands of Lakshwadeep and Nicobar were also not shown. Hence Shri. Madhav Deshpande, the Convener of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Mumbai lodged a complaint with Mumbai Police Commissioner on the 27th of September. Taking cognizance of this complaint, the assistant police inspector of Goregaon Police Station Shri. D. U. Bangar, registered the offence. The Police have issued notices to the officials of this company and the organizers of this exhibition in this regards.
