Bijapur (Karnataka): Press Meet was held here on 20th June, 2011 at 10am in Mysore Hotel by HJS, to oppose ‘The Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence (Access to Justice and Reparations) Bill, 2011’ drafted by NAC which is chaired by Congress President Sonia Gandhi. NAC has been formed to advise the Central Govt. HJS also took the issue of ‘Karnataka Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment Act, 2011’ (Karnataka Temple Takeover Act, 2011). The dignitaries present for the meer were Mr. Mohan Gowda, Spokesperson of HJS for Karnatak State; Mr. Venkatraman Naik, Bijapur District Co-ordinator of HJS; Mr. Ajit Vathar,  HJS volunteer; Devout Hindus Mr. Pappu Singh Rajaput and Mr. Kantu Shinde. This press meet was attended by  more than 15 journalists  and cable reporters.

Mr. Mohan Gowda in his speech highlighted about how Sonia Gandhi is trying to protect the minorities and destroying majority Hindus by implementing this bill. This well planned bill is drafted by a committee, in which some members like Teesta Setalvad, Shabnam Hashmi are known for their hatred towards Hindus. If this Bill will be implemented then it will be a big trouble for Hindus. According to this Bill if a person or a group person belonging to the majority (Hindus) attacks on a person or a group of person belonging to religious or linguistic minority it would be a crime. But if persons from minorities will attack on a person or a group of person belonging to majority, it wouldn’t be a crime. Also even if any person from majority speak or write anything against minority persons, it would be a crime; but same is not applicable if a person from minority speak or write anything against Hindus. Also there are many more clauses in the bill which will be used as a tool to suppress Hindus.

To stop further process of the draconian and Anti-Hindu ‘Communal Violence Bill, 2011’  Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has  decided to protest on 23rd June, 2011 at 10.30am in front of District Collector office. During this protest, HJS has also decided to submit representation against  ‘Karnataka temple takeover Act 2011’ to Hon. Governor through District collector.
