Nashik : Sou. Vasudha Chaudhari of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) made an appeal to participants of the drive jointly undertaken by ‘Gurukrupa Parivar’ and Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) for celebrating Ganesh festival in scientific and eco-friendly manner.

This drive was undertaken at Dhanalakshmi Primary and Secondary School. Sou. Chaudhari explained to students ideal manner of celebrating Ganesh festival, importance of idols made of clay etc. besides explaining importance of this festival at spiritual level and as per science. Shri. Kushal Avasarmal, officer of MPCB spoke about celebration of eco-friendly Ganesh festival. He explained MPCB’s activities and importance of people’s participation in controlling pollution. Shri. Shailesh Pote of ‘Gurukrupa Parivar’ spoke about things which are required to be done for ideal celebration of Ganesh festival. Shri. Prakash Kolhe, President of ‘Mandhan Shikshan Sanstha’ also guided the students.

Eco-friendly idols sculpted by students with clay were kept on exhibit and were judged and 3 sculptor-students were given awards. Students told dignitaries that they could learn many good things in the program.
