Devout Hindus seek prevention of cow slaughter that takes place during Bakri Eid !
Varanasi : On 1 August, 2019 devout Hindus and members of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti submitted a memorandum to the DC seeking prevention of cow slaughter that takes place on the occasion of Bakri Eid, that falls on 12 August this year. The devout Hindus demanded that permission to set up temporary slaughter houses should be denied and that the central government should ban cow slaughter across the country with immediate effect. The DC assured the delegation that cow slaughter will not be allowed.
The Samiti has opined that the administration always advises the Hindus to celebrate their festivals in an eco-friendly way (eco-friendly Ganeshotsav, eco-friendly Deepavali, eco-friendly Holi etc). Similarly the administration should encourage people from other religions to celebrate eco-friendly Eid and abstain from slaughtering cows.
Advocate Arun Maurya, Advocate Madanmohan Yadav, Advocate Sanjeevan Yadav, Advocate Anurag Pandey (of the India with Wisdom), Advocate Anup Seth (Nagarik Seva Samiti), Shri. Ravi Srivastav (Hindu Jagaran Manch), Shri. Nilay Pathak (Hindu Janajagruti Samiti) were present among others.
