Training camp by HJS teaching military maneuvers from Shivaji Maharaj-era receives good response

Malakapur (Kolhapur, Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has organized a camp at Malakapur and Shirgaon, to teach military maneuvers practiced during the period of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. There is good response from youth to these camps. The camps started from 8th May will continue till 30th May. The venues of the camps are ground of Chhatrapati Shivaji Stadium at Malakapur;  from 6.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. every day and at Shirgaon, on the grounds of Sri Ninaidevi Temple between 5.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. every day.

Presently, the youth is completely under the influence of foreign games like cricket and our outdoor games have been neglected. Playing our outdoor games help to increase resistance power and mental strength. Games like ‘lathi-kathi’, ‘danda-patta’, and use of sword are taught along with ‘karate’. Knowledge of Dharma is also imparted resulting in increasing patriotism and love and respect towards Dharma among the youth. Every day, 30 participants are attending these camps.
