Take stringent action against adulterers of milk for playing with human health ! – Prof. Shrikant Borate, HJS
Shirval (dist. Satara) : India is known as a collector of milk at international level but unfortunately, adulterated milk is sold here on large scale. Out of the total milk and milk products sold in this country, 68.7% are not pure as per the standard laid down by National Food Security Act. Similarly, 2 lakh litres of water is mixed with milk in Maharashtra but the Government has not been taking any steps against cheating of people and harm caused to their health, through the same. Stringent action should therefore, be taken against those responsible for adulteration of milk and causing harm to people’s health. The above demand was made by Prof. Shrikant Borate of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) during demonstrations staged under aegis of RHA on 17th April at 5.00 p.m. at Shivaji Chowk by pro-Hindu organizations, patriotic citizens and HJS. Shri. Ravindra Parab, a renowned industrialist; Shri. Pandurang Gaikwad of ‘Om Vishwatmak Jungali Maharaj Sampradaya’; Shri. Kiran Ambike, the Vice President of ‘Swarajya Pratishthan’; Bhor; Shri. Pratik Jagtap, a well-wisher and ‘Mandap’-contractor; Shri. Nandkumar Taru of Sri Sri Ravishankar Sampradaya; along with other patriotic devout Hindus were present on the occasion.
The other demands made during the demonstrations were -transparent pipes should be used for filling fuel at petrol-pumps; ban should be imposed immediately on porn-sites, indecent websites which are operating ‘on line’ prostitution business. Prof. Vitthal Jadhav of Sanatan Sanstha and Kum. Kranti Petkar of Ranaragini Division also addressed the demonstrators before conclusion of demonstrations.
- Spontaneous response was received for signature drive undertaken on the occasion. People present at the venue said that such activities were needed now.
- Many local residents were standing near the venue and listening to subjects taken up during the demonstrations. Two devout Hindus joined the demonstrations on the spot.
- A devout Hindu from Shegaon reached the venue of demonstrations when preparations were going on and he waited till the end on knowing the issues to be taken up during demonstrations.
- These demonstrations were shown live on ‘Face book’ and reached up to 27,300 people, while 10,000 people watched them directly; more than 280 people ‘liked’ the post and 225 shared it.
Representation of all the above demands was submitted to Tehasildar at Khandala which was received by P. R. Jadhav, in Tehasildar’s absence.
Representation of the above demands was also submitted to Shri. Hemant Nikam, Executive Magistrate and Tehasildar at Pune. He read the whole representation and lauded HJS for giving, in detail, information.
