Mumbai: Hindu Janajagruti Samiti today staged demonstrations against NCERT for glorifying the Mughal invaders in history text books and giving history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the king worshipped in Maharashtra, only in 5 lines. On the occasion of ‘Shiv-jayanti’, NCERT’s anti-Shivaji stand was exposed before the people by staging demonstrations at Ghatkopar. Nearly 750 devout Hindus took part in the signature drive undertaken on the occasion.

  • 1000 handbills were distributed to create awareness among people.
  • 750 devout Hindus registered their protest by signing the representation against NCERT.
  • 25 students from Hindi High School came where demonstrations were staged and learnt the topic. They signed the representation to register their protest.

Mr. Ravi Parkar, former ‘Shakha-chief’ of Shiv Sena took active part in the demonstrations and addressed the participants. He distributed the pamphlets along with 30 activists of Shiv Sena. The demonstrations were successful in enlightening about 3000 citizens on the subject.
