Ornaments stolen from Maruti Temple at Shahada

Phalgun Krushna Pratipada, Kaliyug Varsha 5112

Shahada (Dist. Nandurbar, Maharashtra): Some miscreants robbed silver ornaments adorning the idol of Lord Maruti and cash from the offerings box from a temple on Press Road, Dondai. The robbery took place by breaking the lock of the temple in the late night. Earlier, the same temple has been robbed on four occasions. (Why there was no proper security despite 4 incidents of theft at the temple? Had such incident occurred in case of a mosque, would the police have dared to show such indifference ? – Editor SP)

Once, the Maruti idol was denigrated and donation box was broken. In the last month, a brass bell weighing 20 kgs was stolen from this temple; but in none of the cases, the culprit has been nabbed. A group of Muslims is always found sitting near the temple till late night. The local residents therefore, have suspicion that these Muslims could be involved in theft cases. (Hindus should remember that it is the duty of the Government to protect their temples and force the Government to do its duty ! – Editor SP)
