Prayagraj (Kumbhanagari) : Trying to prevent release of polluted water to River Ganga is protection of Ganga in true sense. Unfortunately, under ‘Namami Gange’ project, the Government did not make expected attempts, was the regret expressed by Shri. Hemant Dhyani, Promoter of ‘Ganga Avhan Andolan’ at Kumbhanagari while talking on the subject of ‘Ganga Rakshan’, through the medium of ‘Face book live’. Shri. Punyanandaji, an activist of ‘Protection of Ganga’ movement and Shri. Chetan Rajhans, Sanatan Sanstha’s spokesperson were also present on the occasion.

Shri. Hemant Dhyani, the promoter of ‘Ganga Avhan Andolan’ said, “Ganga’s water is so pure and it can never get polluted. Due to dams constructed on the river, purity of Ganga flowing from Himalaya has reduced. Now, in the remaining water, polluted water from cities is released and Ganga is becoming more polluted. Instead of purification of Ganga, the Government should see to it that polluted water is not sent to the river. The solution has to be found early; else, Ganga will be known as polluted river.”

Shri. Punyanandaji has staged agitation for protection of Ganga from 24th October 2018. He has put forth many suggestions for protection of Ganga and till they were not accepted, the agitation would go on, he said.

Shri. Chetan Rajhans said, “Sanatan Sanstha has held exhibition on ‘Gangarakshan’ in ‘Kumbh-Mela’ for creating awareness amongst people towards the issue. All like-minded organizations will come together and pass a resolution in ‘Kumbh-Mela’ for protection of Ganga.” Shri. Rajhans informed about Sanatan’s book titled ‘Devanadi Ganga ki Raksha Kareyn’ on this issue.

‘Ganga Raksha Facebook live’ received 112 comments and 164 ‘share’ while it was watched by 7100 people.
