Demonstrations staged for lack of proper facilities to Saints and Mahants

Prayagraj (Kumbhanagari) : Instead of providing facilities to Sadhus, Saints-Mahants, ‘Kumbh Mela’ administration is harassing them by asking to pay bills for using electricity and ‘akhada’; therefore, Mahants staged demonstrations on Kali Marg on 30th January to protest against the same. They raised slogans against ‘Kumbh Mela’ officers. The demonstrations were held under Anant Shrivibhushit Jagatguru Panchananda Giri Maharaj of Anandeshwar Mahadev Mutt, Paramat Ghat, Kanpur. Mahants participating in demonstrations raised slogans against the ‘Kumbh Mela’ administration. Mahant Chetanagiri Maharaj, Mahant Balakanandagiri Maharaj, Mahant Jayant Maharaj etc participated in demonstrations.

Large scale corruption in ‘Kumbh Mela’ arrangements ! – Anant Shri Vibhushit Jagatguru Panchanandagiri Maharaj

Anant Shri Vibhushit Jagatguru Panchanandagiri Maharaj said while talking to representative of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’, “There is large scale corruption in working of ‘Kumbh Mela’. The administrative officers are totally corrupt. Saints and Mahants are harassed but the administrative officers are posing good picture of ‘Kumbh Mela’ before people. PM Narendra Modi, CM Yogi Adityanath should check the lack of facilities in ‘Kumbh Mela’ with their own eyes. They say that toilets have been provided but in reality, they ask to use open space for toilet. This is injustice.”

Why should Sadhus and Saints face problems even when BJP is ruling ? – Shri Mahant Swami Shri Hariharananda Bharati Maharaj    

Shri Mahant Swami Shri Hariharananda Bharati Maharaj of Shri Bharati Ashram, Bhavanath Junagdh in Uttar Pradesh said, “Kumbh Mela’ officers are not doing anything; in fact, they are asking us for money for using electricity and erecting ‘aakhadaas’. There is no system in ‘Kumbh Mela’. Every tent costing Rs. 40,000/- is occupied by Saints. Now, officers are asking for money but from where will we get it? These officers say that you pay for facilities. Police stop Sadhus on their way to ‘Triveni Sangam’. Why should we face problems even when BJP is ruling the State? Let there be any government, this is ‘Kumbh Mela’ of Sadhus. Even devotees are facing problems along with Sadhus and we condemn the administration for such inconveniences.”
